Those of you who have been impatiently anticipating SHINee’s Japanese PV for “Lucifer” can relax — the video is finally out! The quintet is back with another round of flashy sets and intricate choreography. And of course, some interesting styling choices.
Similar to its Korean predecessor, the Japanese version showcases the group’s impressive dance skills. Taemin is as fierce as ever, but who would expect anything less from that dance machine? The sets were changed up a bit, with an addition of a water scene (no removal of clothing — sorry, folks!) and an overall more black-gray palette. You’ll notice plenty of bleached hair, and while I’m not personally a fan of the shade, it’s a relief to see Key with a full head of hair! The original Korean version felt a bit more grandiose to me, but I find myself liking the Japanese version just fine.
A chart-topping hit in Korea, “Lucifer” is the title track off SHINee’s second full-length album of the same name, released in July 2010. The group went on to release a Japanese version of the song later that same year.
